HISTORICAL PURVIEW

  • The history and birth of Global Hope and Justice for the less Privileged Inc. a.k.a Vanguard of Hope and Justice (formed on the 10thof October, 2003) is that of a people wallowing in abject poverty, economic pains and hostility, neglect and abandonment, a people that could not receive fair share from nature due to their disability, and otherwise and worst still the society does deny them love and care by way of discrimination and stigmatization.  Regrettably, within the contemporary Nigerian society, there is little appreciation that disability is fundamentally an issue inexorably link to and rooted in Human Rights. Instead the common perception, held by Nigerian policy-makers and the public at large, is that persons with disabilities, (PWDs) and disability issues are viewed in terms of charity and welfare. Consequently, this viewpoint is a significant entrenched factor that seriously militates against the socio-economic inclusion of Disability Community in Nigeria and almost the whole continent of Africa.
  • Unfortunately, in Nigeria, there is no form of organized social security for persons with disabilities which exacerbate the level of poverty that they encounter. As a result, these people have lost hope and confidence on themselves as they tend to believe that life is rather worthless to them having been abandoned by the society and neglected by the government. Consequently, some now constitute themselves into social nuisance and miscreant begging for death instead.

Thus, the need for such a one or institution devoid of self-seeking or personal aggrandizement but filled with passion and love for them who will as a matter of urgent obligation and duty work for their total and holistic Inclusion and economic emancipation.

In the light of the above, Global Hope and Justice Inc. under the leadership of a man who is a beacon of hope having traversed poverty that’s garnished with penury and pain in an ugly and gory mesh of physical disability but against all odds chose to live an undaunted life of ‘Never say Die’ is determined to be the bridge between indigent millions of persons with disabilities in Nigeria and a fulfilled life of their desired dream.
